Through our partnership with Altar 84, The Haiti Collective continues to expand the medical program for our orphaned children. Last month, Altar 84 traveled to Haiti and brought alongside them another organizational partner, mPower Approach. mPower Approach is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to coming alongside missions oriented ministries and local indigenous churches to equip them with the technology, the training, and the operational skills for them to faithfully carry out their calling to proclaim the name of Christ in a self-supporting manner.

During their time in Haiti, they taught and trained 10 indigenous men and women to become competent in dental extractions so that they can be deployed throughout the various areas where no such service is available to the Haitian people. All trainees participated in an extensive 3-day conference, which was then followed up by 3 days of hands-on training in dental clinics in surrounding communities. In all, six of the trainees were certified, and they will continue to work in pairs as they implement the training on an ongoing basis as a sustainable solution to the dental needs of their respective communities (Saint-Marc, Port-de-Paix, L’Estere, and Desarmes). This effort is critical to developing long-term sustainable solutions to medical and dental needs in Haiti, so pray with us that these indigenous leaders would be well equipped to serve their people, both physically and spiritually, in the days to come!
